Please choose the right forum!

Please choose the right forum!

When you put up a new topic, please choose the right forum. We're getting a lot of posts going into forums that have nothing to do with the subject of the topic - and this means we have to waste time moving them.

The Forums index has a brief description of the purpose of each forum, and each forum has an INFO post pinned to the top of its topic list. If you don't know what forum your topic should go into, read these descriptions. Could new members especially make sure you understand what each forum is for so that we don't have to then move your topic into the correct place.

Thanks.

Atrocities

From the BBC news of today, 27 June 2009.

Horror of Kenya's 'witch' lynchings

I can't see clearly what is going on, but heavy smoke is rising from the ground and a horrible stench fills the air.

More people are streaming up the hill, some of them with firewood and maize stalks.

Suddenly an old woman breaks from the crowd, screaming for mercy. Three or four people go after her, beat her and drag her back, pushing her onto - what I can now see - is a raging fire.
Read on.

This really made me feel sad, mad and, possibly, bad, here, now, as I'm havin' my breakfast and gettin' ready to go to a birthday party. I was already saddened by the unfortunate demise of Michael Jackson, and this just threw me over the emotional cliff, so to say. What ugliness, what ignorance, what stupidity, what disrespect of human dignity, what an affront to sensibility. Barbarity. I'm posting this in deepest affect. Now is the time for your tears.

What to do???

Gay Exorcism

We haven't had a good exorcism in awhile, so here you go: MSNBC News Item

The middle ages are still alive and well. Count on small town America to keep these hits coming.

The kid was apparently in reform school for stealing. I haven't quite figured how we get from being a thief to being gay, but never mind. It's the drama, I guess.

The plant that pretends to be ill

"A plant that pretends to be ill has been found growing in the rainforests of Ecuador.
The plants feigns sickness to stop it being attacked by insect pests known as mining moths, which would otherwise eat its healthy leaves.
It is the first known example of a plant that mimics being ill, and could also explain a common pattern seen on plant leaves known as variegation."
