Paul Geisert, Ph.D. recently retired as Founding Executive Director of nonprofit The Brights' Net, which supports the hub of communications and action participanats in the international constituency of Brights. He continues to drop into the office on occasion and answer email queries that come into "Brights Central."

Dr. Geisert co-founded the Brights movement to offer a broader and more positive identity to citizens than the usual terms defined by religion. He coined the term bright (noun) to emphasize the relation to science and reason and draw parallel to the period of hope for a better world that characterized the historical Enlightenment era..

A retired professor of zoology and education at the University of Wyoming, Dr. Geisert did graduate work at the University of Michigan in biology and Florida State University in instructional systems.
