Special Initiative Group #1

Secular Coalition for America

Brights Action (SCA)

This Brights Action SIG is formed specifically to enable a self-designated portion of the Brights constituency to endorse the mission of the Secular Coalition for America (SCA), which is:

To increase the visibility and respectability of nontheistic viewpoints in the United States and to protect and strengthen the secular character of our government as the best guarantee of freedom for all.”

An American Bright who signs into this group supports that mission, which the SCA mainly pursues through the actions of its lobbyist headquartered in Washington, D.C. The Secular Coalition for America is an organization with member organizations. People lend it support via individual donations and strengthen its voice by way of the endorsements of their own organizations. The more of both, the louder its advocacy voice will be.

SIG Membership: Any Bright who is a USA citizen

SIG Leadership: Brights Central

A registration into the Brights Action SCA is supporting the Secular Coalition for America in name only (no dues or donations are required, but are, of course, welcomed by SCA). You must already be registered as a Bright to belong to this SIG.

The SCA lists the Brights Action SCA as “an endorsing organization” at its website (http://www.secular.org/endorsing_orgs.html). The Brights' Net will facilitate the Brights Action SIG's endorsement of Secular Coalition's lobbying actions and/or policy statements that align with the overall civic aims of the Brights initiative.

Subscribe to SIG#1 to be a part of the Brights Action SCA initiative.
